AMI Advanced Medical Institute

Why AMI?

Advanced Medical Institute (AMI) treats sexual dysfunction and is a 100% subsidiary of a publicly listed company (AMI) in the USA (NASDAQ). AMI Australia has over 280 personnel, including 48 medical professionals who deliver a high level of back-up service and support to patients, including a 24-hour national patient support line.

AMI understands premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction and over the past 14 years AMI has been providing the opportunity for individuals to treat sexual dysfunction by making access simple and easy to treatment.

Through a wide range of treatment options AMI helps restore the quality of life for men of all ages with different medical conditions (including Parkinson disease, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, tetra and quadriplegic) that is otherwise lost to these patients and their partners and discretely delivers these products directly to their doors.

How many people receive treatments from Advanced Medical Institute (AMI)?
The business carried on by AMI started in 1993, some 14 years ago. During this time, over 300,000 patients with sexual dysfunction have been treated.

Do the treatments work?
AMI has conducted a survey of more than 12,500 of its patients for sexual dysfunction which indicates that the efficacy of its nasal spray treatments is more than 60%.

Where do the treatments come from?
AMI’s treatments are compound medications which are entirely composed of existing drugs which have been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) with known safety and efficacy. AMI’s treatments for sexual dysfunction provide a practical method of drug delivery to the body most commonly through the use of nasal sprays, lozenges and injections. All medications are prescribed by registered doctors and are prepared and delivered by a registered compounding pharmacy in full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

How widespread is the issue of male sexual dysfunction?
It is estimated that 38% of Australian men have some degree of erectile dysfunction (Chew KK, Earle CM, Stuckey BG, Jamrozik K, Keogh EJ Erectile dysfunction in general medical practice: prevalence and clinical correlates. Int J Impot Res. 2000 Feb; 12(1):41-5).

An estimated 30% of men suffer from premature ejaculation on a consistent basis. Among young adults, approximately 50% complain of early ejaculation (McCarthy, 1989). These conditions are common sexual disorders affecting men of all age groups.

AMI is continuously researching and developing new methods of treatment in relation to the treatment of sexual dysfunction in men, including impotence, premature ejaculation and reduced male libido. AMI’s its subsidiary, Intelligent Medical Technologies Pty Limited, has developed an ultrasonic nebuliser which is in the process of being registered with the TGA and which delivers drugs to the lungs.
